Dr. Janet Price is a proven scientific leader with more than 13 years of research and development experience in the technology and life sciences sectors. She has led high-impact research initiatives, including four years directing advanced ultraviolet (UV) technology programs, and has extensive experience guiding teams through the rigorous processes of EPA and FDA regulatory filings and government-funded research.

As the Chief Science Officer at Visium, Dr. Price integrates scientific precision with engineering innovation to deliver next-generation room and building health solutions. Her leadership ensures every Visium product meets the highest standards of safety, efficacy, and performance—advancing the company’s position as a trusted thought leader in environmental health technology.

Dr. Price is an active contributor to professional standards development through her work with the International Ultraviolet Association (IUVA) and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). In ASHRAE, she serves as Secretary for SSPC 185 and an active member in TC 2.9 Ultraviolet Air and Surface Treatment and SSPC 241 Control of Infectious Aerosols, influencing the future of UV and air treatment standards worldwide.

She earned her Doctorate in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of Michigan, specializing in microbiology. Her dissertation work, conducted across three collaborative research programs, was recognized with the prestigious Rackham Predoctoral Fellowship for excellence in research and leadership.

Beyond her role at Visium, Dr. Price is deeply engaged in the broader biotechnology community. She mentors early-stage companies through the OptiMize program and serves as a founding member of the College of Science and Engineering Advisory Board at Central Michigan University, her undergraduate alma mater. A dedicated advocate for scientific innovation and workforce development, she is committed to fostering the next generation of leaders bridging academic discovery and commercial success.
